HOW DO YOU Pick YOUR WEDDING VENDORS?

SELECTING THE RIGHT WEDDING SUPPLIERS FROM THE BEGINNING

ss wedding photography - Have you decided to take the plunge and get married, and you're on the hunt for wedding vendors to accompany you on your big day? Then you've probably realised that there are hundreds of wedding-related businesses in your area, and that the job will be, to put it mildly, tedious.

And it's true that starting from scratch, without knowing anybody, can be daunting. But don't be concerned; you'll soon discover the path that will take you to the appropriate providers. And we say acceptable providers because they are all legitimate, but we are certain that there are some with whom you identify, and you will recognise them as soon as you see them.

In the next lines we would like you to figure some tips, always from our perspective, but we won't tell you which are the best because there are no absolute best providers, but you can get suppliers that better fit your tastes. And this is where we'll concentrate our efforts: on the factors to consider when selecting or dismissing each provider.

How to Pick Wedding Vendors

First steps in your ideal holiday producers' search

The first advice to any kind of provider you need to do is make a wide-ranging search, but you only look at the style at this first moment if you like what you see, if you can see yourself on the making, dress or in those pictures. Take it off if it doesn't fit you. We say this because there is a definite style for each supplier and, luckily, everybody has styles for any taste, so that it is better to choose someone who does what you are looking for than to ask another supplier to adapt to a new style. Your own. Oh, your own.

This first (and most chaotic) stage will expose you to a plethora of websites, Instagram profiles, and wedding vendors. We are confident that you will be able to reduce your circle to no more than a half-dozen providers for each form of service that meet your needs, and you will have solved 90% of the problem.

Now is the time to request details to see how many of them have your free date available, as well as what kind of budget they work with. And now for the second piece of advice: compose them with zeal, as if you want them to respond to you. We often receive messages along the lines of "I'd like a budget for my wedding," and he believes that this is a matter of mutual confidence that must begin with the first email. That is why the first touch is so crucial, because you would be able to see how they react to you and determine if you feel relaxed and confident that they will attend your wedding after that first email, call, or WhatsApp.

And here's my third piece of advice: while budget is important, it shouldn't be your primary consideration. We all have our own set of values, and the budget does not leave you without the perfect provider for you, because you know it is that and not another, and if you give it up, you will come to regret it.

THE DECISIVE MOMENT WITH YOUR WEDDING PROVIDERS: FACE TO FACE

Here's the deal: You wrote with all your heart, they responded, and you already have a feeling that there might be a link with some of them. Following an analysis of the prices, there are a few you can expect or factor into your forecast (remember, do not let this be the main discarding factor).

It's time to get together, either in person or via video call (which is so fashionable these days and is so useful). And this is the point at which your decision should be based on the most. If they speak to you as if you've known them for a lifetime in that first meeting, and you've agreed to go out for a drink together, don't hesitate; you've found the right provider. There aren't any more ruses.

A wedding is a long process, and there are many vendors with whom you will have a relationship for months, and with others, such as photographers and videographers, even after the wedding, so it is preferable to take that relationship a step further and build mutual confidence that enables us all to be at ease during the process. Only in this manner would you have the impression that we are not strangers on the wedding day.

WE ARE A TEAM, AND TRUST IS VERY IMPORTANT TO US.

Remember that all of the vendors who will be a part of your wedding must work together as a team, so it's always a good idea to ask for feedback from the vendors you're considering hiring to help you make the best decisions possible. However, it is important that these suggestions reflect your personal style, as we have all seen many wedding vendors in action and can determine who is the right match for you, your personality, or the type of wedding you are planning.

As a result, once we've established that degree of confidence, we'll be able to assist you in a more personalised manner, ensuring that everything runs smoothly on your wedding day.

We must also recognise the work of the wedding planners, who will do everything possible to ensure that the team you shape is in sync, and this is in line with another piece of advice we often offer you: if any aspect of the wedding is overwhelming to you, don't hesitate to delegate. We've come to have fun.

Finally, you must be absolutely certain of each decision; if you are not, go back and review the measures you have taken to see where you lack the necessary trust. Hire wedding vendors who understand your vision, who are enthusiastic about you, who talk about you, and who make you feel unique. Only in this manner would you be able to have a wedding that is specifically tailored to your requirements and preferences.

Despite the fact that it may seem difficult to find them right now, there are vendors out there who are ideal for your wedding and who suit you like a glove. We hope we have contributed in some way to their discovery (or our meeting!).

If you enjoyed it and want to read more tips like this, we've put together a wedding guide with a wealth of information on how to plan the perfect wedding. We've provided a connection for you to use.

50 Tips for a Wedding Photographer

50 Tips for a Wedding Photographer

Filming a wedding is not easy. After all, the photographer has a responsibility for how one of the happiest days of the newlyweds will remain in their memory.

These 50 tips will help you avoid common mistakes during wedding photography and make the process simpler and calmer.

1. Wear comfortable shoes
You will have to move a lot during shooting. Of course, hairpins are more suitable for a wedding ceremony, but believe me, you will howl and will be the most grumpy wedding photographer on the planet.

2. Do not listen to incompetent advisers
At almost every wedding, there is a person who believes that he knows better than you how to arrange people in the frame, from what angle is better to shoot, etc. Better immediately give up any advice. You must be confident in your actions and responsible for the result. Be polite and make it clear that you do not need help. And rest assured, the newlyweds will appreciate how quickly and accurately you do your job.

3. Talk frankly about pre-wedding photography
Many couples take the tradition very seriously, according to which the groom should not see the bride in the dress until the wedding. In such cases, try to explain that you need to spend at least an hour with the bride and groom (and no guests) to make a wedding album with good pictures. Quite often, couples simply cannot physically allocate time for a photo shoot on their wedding day, so they agree to hold it the day before the ceremony. By the way, this is a great opportunity for the bride to try out her hair and makeup.

4. Make the newlyweds happy with the photos
Most often, you can hear complaints from the bride and groom that the photographer missed a certain shot (for example, he didn’t take a picture with his school friend / friend or forgot his little sister in a pink dress). The best way to avoid such incidents is to meet the bride and groom in advance and ask them to make a list of required photographs. You can also bring examples of wedding photos to the meeting so that the bride chooses her favorite pose. Remember to bring along a list of wedding photos and check the boxes as you complete. Typically, this list is limited to 15 required images.

5. Change lenses
If you see that the bride and groom are not sufficiently relaxed and tense in front of the camera, then it is better to change the lens to a longer one (for example, 200mm) and move away from the couple. This will provide an opportunity to relax a little young. Then their interaction will be more natural, and you will take good pictures. A little later, when they get used to your presence, you can get closer and change the lens.

6. Find out the names
During a preliminary meeting with the bride and groom, ask for the names and phone numbers of the witnesses or best man and bridesmaids. As a rule, these people are actively involved in organizing the wedding ceremony, and maybe they will come in handy for you.

7. Keep the color of the dress in the photo white
To do this, you will have to resort to positive exposure compensation. An exposure meter in your camera, seeing a white dress, will decide that this section of the image is simply too bright, and not white. As a result, the camera will make the whole photo darker to compensate for a too bright area. By setting a positive exposure compensation, you can easily deal with this problem.

8. Have a spare carcass
In the middle of the celebration, your equipment may experience a technical malfunction. Fortunately, you can rent a spare camera, the cost of this service is not high, and the presence of a second device gives confidence. Having two carcasses is good not only for reinsurance, but also for your own convenience, as this allows you to have different lenses on two cameras. During the celebration, you can quickly switch from a telephoto lens to a standard zoom as needed. Once you try to work with two cameras, you will never want to return to shooting with one carcass.

9. Do not chase quantity
You can often hear novice photographers boasting that they shot more than 2000 photos during the wedding. Each photographer has his own style, so do not chase the quantity, but take each frame deliberately, seizing the moment.

10. Hire a second photographer
Most novice photographers do not resort to the help of a second photographer. But if you have the opportunity, then this is definitely worth doing. Firstly, then definitely not a single good shot will be missed, and secondly, you will have a second set of equipment in case of unforeseen circumstances. Write a message to several photographers from your city with a proposal for mutually beneficial cooperation. They will be in the role of the second photographer during the shooting of your wedding, and you, in turn, will render them the same service during the shooting of their wedding.

Tips for the bride how to stress fully organise your own wedding

Tips for the bride how to stress fully organise your own wedding

HOW TO PLAN A WEDDING CORRECTLY

As a rule, planning a wedding takes 6 months, and I think this is enough time to please myself. Thus, you will get the opportunity to choose the best from the best suppliers.

In this article, I suggest a to-do list that may be useful to you. You can add or remove tasks necessary for your wedding. If something is irrelevant for your event, just cross it out! For those tasks that matter, try to adhere to the time frame, as far as possible, so that in the end you do not have to make all the preparations for six months, a month before the wedding. Delaying can lead you to a meager choice between a couple of available suppliers, to the biggest margins when ordering printed products at the last moment, and many other unpleasant consequences. This to-do list can be modified to fit your own plan, as it is already formatted in priority order.

The only task that cannot be done in advance is the seating of the guests, as in my experience, the number of guests changes until the last moment.

If you find yourself too busy, consider engaging your friends and family to help you with specific tasks. For example, if preparing compliments from newlyweds for guests is an impossible task, enlist the support of family members, let them do all the “preparatory work”. They will probably be delighted, because they love to be involved in such an important process. In assigning tasks, you always need to know the measure - make sure that you do not rely too much on a particular person so that no one is overloaded and does not fail the task.

TO-DO LIST

First stage.

Approve the budget.

Start compiling a guest list based on the budget you approved.

Choose a venue for your wedding. If you decide to celebrate the wedding, keep in mind that you can lose most of the guests from your list if you choose a place where it will be difficult to get.

Start exploring and visiting selected places. If you are planning a wedding, this is a good time to plan a visit to facilities. You may need to spend several days visiting possible wedding venues and rehearsal venues.

Make sure your passports are in order and get a phrasebook if you are considering options for a wedding abroad. You should also look at the latest news of the selected region to make sure that you have chosen a place for a wedding where there is no civil war and which does not suffer from natural disaster.

Set a date based on the location of your wedding. If you are not tied to a specific date, you can contact the administrators of the chosen place to help you determine the best date for the budget wedding (some places have lower prices during the off-season and on weekdays).

Choose a wedding company (those who help with the organization, bridesmaids, groom's friends, witnesses). Try to limit their number to reasonable limits, especially if your budget is limited. A large wedding company if it has three to five people.

Browse magazines and blogs for inspirational photos. Collect selected photos in the Inspiration section. You can also use a website such as Pinterest to compose a mudboard (Moodboard (English Moodboard - “mood board”) - a visual representation of any project, a collage consisting of fabric samples, drawings, sketches, illustrations, etc.) that set the tone for your wedding.

Start looking for wedding dresses to find out what suits you, which designers appeal to you. If you want to save money on a dress, try searching online for your favorite dresses. Once Wed and Recycled Bride sell used dresses online.

Start picking up wedding rings. You must definitely complete this task in person, and not search through the Internet.

Second stage
Choose a wedding venue and set a date.

Launch your wedding website.

Finish creating a guest list with your families.

Create a text for wedding invitations.

Find out what requirements are in the registry office, where you plan to register marriage.

Choose suppliers through magazines, websites, and as recommended by friends or site administrators for your wedding.

Try to narrow down the list to the three main rivals in each category, then have a conversation with each of the remaining suppliers to determine which one is most suitable for your wedding style, fits into the budget and you like it personally.

Select graphic designers from among the guests and / or invite designers.

Third stage

Hire a photographer! Try to do this as soon as you choose a date, as a good photographer, as a rule, needs to be booked far in advance.

Start looking for bridesmaids dresses. This is often a difficult part of the planning process, since there are no two similar bridesmaids, they all have their own strong opinions about what looks good on their body type, what colors they like, etc. A great way to avoid conflict: give your girls some options and let them decide for themselves. You can also consider sewing custom-made dresses at your local atelier.

Consider outfit options for the groom and groom's friends so that they blend in with the outfits of the bridesmaids and the design of the site.

Get samples of music for guest groups and music for the ceremony, or schedule a meeting with a DJ to discuss your musical preferences.

Find directions for your honeymoon.

Rehearse hairstyles and makeup. Try combining a hairstyle and makeup rehearsal with an evening date or photo shoot.

If you are going to do a pre-wedding photo shoot, schedule it. This is an amazing way to get to know your photographer better and get used to being under the camera lens. This is also a good time to ask for advice and see how your hair and makeup look in photos.

Start picking up wedding departures if you plan to get married away from home.

If you use the accumulated miles to book a ticket, make sure that you book early enough, because, as a rule, such tickets tend to be sold first.

Start picking hotels for you and your guests. Many large hotels will allow you to reserve a block for at least ten rooms.

Fourth stage

Hire a hairdresser and makeup artist for your wedding.

Hire a videographer.

Request invitations and thank you notes. Talk with your designer about the timing of the print production to avoid margins for ordering at the last moment.

Choose a florist.

Hire a lighting specialist if these services are not included in the rental of the selected site, or add custom-made lighting if you wish.

Hire a team of sound engineers to organize the musical accompaniment of the ceremony, live music, and / or DJ if this service is not provided for by the selected venue.

Complete your hotel reservation for your guests. As a rule, hotels give a free cancellation period. Make sure you mark the desired postponement date on the calendar and contact guests closer to that date, as you will not receive answers to your invitations by then.

If your witness (bridesmaid, maid of honor) and the witness (best man) have not yet begun to plan a bachelorette party and a bachelor party, now is the time to do it. In fact, there are no time limits when these activities should take place, so it may be better to coordinate them with the schedule of all participants.

Fifth stage

Complete the preparations for all your wedding dresses, including your wedding dress, bridesmaids dress, groom suits, and groom's friends. Make changes to the schedule as needed and start picking up accessories.

Book a transfer for guests, taking into account any possible trips around the city, and the fact that it will be a weekend. If the chosen date coincides with the time of the graduation parties, make a reservation well in advance to be sure of the priority of your order.

Think of gifts to each other. Do not forget to surprise the chosen one during the preparation and on the wedding day - it will fill with emotions and defuse the atmosphere.

Book rental chairs, tables, tents and textiles (tablecloths, chair covers) if the site does not provide these services.

End the discussion of floral design for the ceremony and reception with your florist. You should also talk with the florist about rented chairs, tables and textiles to get a professional opinion and make sure that they will be in harmony with the floral design.

Sixth stage

Sign the invitations or give them to the calligrapher. You can also order invitations with a designer print and digitally signed to save your time and nerves.

Order a wedding cake. It is important to combine the design of the cake with the other components of the wedding style, the decision on the design of which is mainly taken at this moment, at this point.

Order programs if you plan to print them in the printing industry. If you marry outdoors, take into account any vagaries of nature that may affect the course of the event (for example, if it is really windy, you should not plan to leave the printed programs on each chair without something that will not allow them to fly away). Also order signs, menu cards, accompanying cards, cards with table numbers and any other printed matter.

Complete your wedding compliments if you make them. This is not necessary if you have ready-made welcome packages for guests - it is up to you.

Attend dance classes with your fiancé if you plan on dancing to impress.

Plan your breakfast after the wedding if you want to spend it (second day). Usually the most convenient place for this is the hotel where most of the guests will stay, or your home.

Seventh stage

Send invitations.

Submit your marriage application (individually in each city / country).

Choose gifts for everyone who helps with the organization.

Select the oath texts for the ceremony. Consider passages from stories, poems, and poems that you like and mean a lot to both of you.

Choose music for the ceremony. Check the duration.

Select the appropriate songs for the reception, for example, for the first dance and the dance of the father and daughter, and at the end select a list of songs with a DJ and / or group.

Refine the list of frames with the photographer and / or videographer. Write down what, whom and when.

Decide what is needed for your image of the bride (place accents of beauty: manicure, extensions, painting, etc.) for the bride and guests of the wedding (girlfriends). Be careful not to choose something that you have never tried before. This means that if you never pluck your eyebrows, you should not start doing this the day before the wedding.

Arrange a bridesmaids lunch. This is a great chance to discuss the details of the wedding day and give gifts to girlfriends.

Eighth stage

Contact guests for answers to invitations.

Start working on a seating plan for the wedding and decide whether you will number tables and assign a place for each guest (more formally) or simply number the tables (less formally), so guests themselves will find a place at the appointed table.

Sign the accompanying cards and seat cards at the table (or hand them over to the calligrapher).

Wear your wedding shoes at home. It concerns both of you!

Find someone to look after your home while you are away for your wedding and / or honeymoon.

Decide whether you want to relax in the spa and sign up for the spa yourself or with your girlfriends.

Distribute and discuss all responsibilities and responsibilities for all parts of the event with girlfriends, friends, family members and the wedding coordinator.

Ninth stage

Discuss all remaining details with the suppliers of the products and other suppliers, including the final number of guests, which will also affect the reservation of wedding equipment (chairs, tablecloths, etc.) and the number of flowers ordered.

Take the finished wedding dress.

Confirm the order of the entire transfer for wedding guests and for your personal needs.

Visit your hairdresser for pre-preparations for your bridal style, such as cutting and dyeing your hair.

Let your loved ones and families know your honeymoon’s route, passport details and credit card information in case of emergency.

Rehearse the ceremony and invite everyone who is involved in it: who is walking along the aisle, standing at the altar or giving a speech - should be present. If the ceremony venue is not nearby, you can rehearse at a more convenient location. The most important thing in this process is to make sure everyone understands where, from where and with whom they are going, understand any musical signals, as well as what they will say during the ceremony.

Take finished printed products: programs, menus, etc.

Complete the seating plan and prepare (print) the accompanying cards and / or cards with seat numbers.

Pack for your honeymoon if you are leaving right after your wedding. Prepare tips and envelopes for settlement with suppliers.

Email wedding weekend itineraries to all guests.

Tenth stage

Look through all the details of the site, seating arrangements, rental equipment, music and transfers and do not forget to confirm this information, as well as any special details to your suppliers.

Transfer welcome booklets and / or welcome gifts to the hotel rooms where guests will be staying.

Visit the beauty salon for the final preparations of your look.

Send reminders and thank you notes to everyone involved in the wedding event.

Take part in the rehearsal of the ceremony with the guests to “run through” the timing, placement, docking according to the schedule (schedule).

Have a rehearsal dinner and enjoy! This is a great way to start celebrating your wedding weekend.

How To Save On The Purchase Of Photographic Material (TIPS AND ERRORS)

We are constantly bombarded with reviews, unboxings and general advertising of photographic material, more luminous objectives , 4k cameras, drones, tripods, etc. Material that most of the time we do not need, but still in the depths of our hearts we know that someday they will be ours.

The purchase of new photographic material is a delicate subject, many are frustrated when basing their creativity on their equipment and spend long periods of time without taking pictures because they blame the camera for not making "good photos", their tripod does not stabilize enough or They have noise problems due to poor lighting.

Tips for buying photographic material

Luckily or unfortunately our profession or hobby is really expensive if you like to be up to date. Although if you just want to take pictures, anyone can do them with a cheap reflex camera or mobile camera. It is easy to fall into the trap of changing teams every year, we always have the feeling of being incomplete.

Throughout these years I have learned that to make those photos that we see in magazines or the internet, you do not have to spend a lot of money on equipment, but on experiences. I know photographers who bought Canon's latest camera and have not taken it from home for months, why? Because they spent all the money as a team and now have no money to travel, buy clothes for their photographs, accessories, appropriate clothes to photograph the winter or shoes to climb the peak they have a few kilometers from home.

[Tweet "" To make good photos you do not have to spend on cameras, but on experiences ""]

This article does not try to convince you that you do not need the equipment you want, but to save money to get it before, get it much cheaper or find other ways to get it without spending the entire budget.

Order borrowed photographic equipment

No, I do not mean that a friend will leave your brand new Canon 6D Mark II  for you to take it on safari. I mean to meet someone who has the equipment you want or make an appointment with the brand's distributor in your city to let you try it before paying for it. It has ever happened to me that when I tried a goal from my "wish list" I automatically discarded it when I saw that it was not what I expected.

The full-frame 26.2-megapixel sensor offers an excellent level of detail, with high latitude of exposure and low noise level
Dual Pixel CMOS AF focuses as safely as when using Live View mode.
45 cross-type AF points, which allow to focus with millimeter precision: captures fleeting moments at 6.5 fps
Wifi and Bluetooth connection: the built-in GPS label your position
Portable and resistant design, designed to withstand the most adverse conditions
Not all reviews are impartial, not all objectives are for the type of photography you practice, nor do all the cameras adapt to each hand. Once you have tested the equipment you will be in a better position to decide if it is really what you are looking for.

Take advantage of test days

You can always buy the item in stores like Amazon or Pccomponentes and take advantage of the free trial and return days.

In the case of Amazon, you will have 90 days to return the item comfortably, just request the return and in a few days the transport company will go through your home for the item.

In Pccomponentes you can test the articles for 14 days for free, then the return costs will be on your side.

rent cheap photographic equipment

There are many sites where you are given the opportunity to try the articles, these are just the ones I use the most.

Although I always buy online, do not forget to visit the physical photography shops to ask about this type of services.

Rent the photographic equipment

More and more photographers are inclined to rent the material instead of buying it . Renting is the best option for sporadic jobs that escape the kind of photography we usually do. What good is a decentralized lens in the backpack taking dust if we usually do portrait photography?

Imagine that you want to record a short film and you want to make a shot in which you will use a slider or a crane . If it is only for that moment, renting it may be the best solution.

The advantage of this service is that you can get material that you had never considered using for its high price. The worst thing is that it can be expensive to pay so much to use a goal a couple of days, but if the work is really worth it is an option to consider.

It is important to know that in some cases the establishment allows you to discount the amount of the rent at the price of the product in case you change your mind and prefer to buy it.

Buy second-hand photo material

I acknowledge that I am an addict to the buying and selling forums , Ebay or Wallapop . I have saved a lot of money buying used material and I have never had any kind of problem, although it goes without saying that you have to be careful.

I am preparing an article on how to buy securely in these types of sites, the essentials are positive votes, user references and secure payment methods.

If you have patience and you are looking for an article that is like new you will be saving a lot of money. Think that an item with the removed seal can already cost € 50 less than average , an item used a week can be reduced € 80 or € 100. Not to mention people who buy their cameras, use them four times and decide to sell them after a year, this is where the real bargains are.

If possible, ask for a purchase invoice and guarantee , otherwise you will have to decide if you risk paying an item that may stop working within a few days of buying it.

Ordering the serial number and searching for it by Google will prevent you from buying stolen material. There are many users who, when they are victims of theft, publish their serial numbers in case someone finds them.

Buy discontinued photo material

There are discontinued objectives that are true jewels, tripods that although they are not carbon, support a gale without the camera moving, kneecaps or buying photo backpacks that once were leaders of sale and there is no need to forget them, everything is still working just as well.

save in photography

If you do not mind losing the autofocus or the stabilization in the objectives, you will find fixed lenses with the same or more quality than a Canon L series for less than half the price, with a robustness and bombproof construction.

A few years ago I bought a Peleng 8mm, a fish eye that has nothing to envy to current objectives except for its weight. He weighed almost half a kilo and the feeling he had when he took it was to be armed.

A Canon 5d mark II is sold second-hand on the 800-700 € a quite attractive price right? Be critical with the new features of the latest cameras and think if they are really necessary to make PHOTOGRAPHY.

Buy a camera outside of Spain

On the internet you will find dozens of online photography stores with prices well below what they have in Spain. As a general rule they do not usually offer a Spanish guarantee but the seller's warranty for one year, as in the case of e-Infinity from ebay, in this store I bought my Sony A7R II for less than 1000 euros from its official price, they sent it to me from Reino United, totally sealed and with all its original accessories, in this article you can read my opinion about E-infinity ebay .

Buy other unofficial brands

Brands such as Tokina , Tamron or Sigma have objectives of excellent quality in their catalog. They usually cost less than their counterparts in official brands such as Canon, Nikon or Sony and have nothing to envy.

Buy lenses from other brands

With the camera batteries exactly the same, there are secondary or white markings that offer the same result. In this case, as with second-hand photographic material, it is important to look at the ratings to get a reliable product. You will have heard cases of "Chinese batteries" that have exploded in the camera, I think they are isolated cases as it happens with some phones of known brands and that is not why we are going to stop enjoying them.

Avoid kits and packages

Although this philosophy is not for all cases, from my point of view I prefer and recommend avoiding these packs .

I mean kits that sell the camera next to a lens. The problem is that these objectives tend to be "short" in a short time for users who want to go further. It is true that to begin with they are fantastic, but they are not very luminous, their construction sometimes leaves much to be desired, they are usually noisy, they have chromatic aberrations , etc.

Paying attention to the point of buying second-hand photographic material or unofficial marks, you can save money buying the camera separately and get the goal you really want or better features than the kit lens for the same price. Otherwise you will be forced in a short time to sell the objective of the kit for little money and buying the goal you really need.

Sell what you do not use

There was a time when he seemed to collect accessories and backpacks. I did not realize until I started to run out of space at home.

secondhand photography material

Sit down to reflect on what materials you use the most and which ones you have used only a couple of times. Go back to the forums of sale, Ebay or Wallapop to get rid of them and earn some money for new material.

Think how quickly everything is devalued, it is useless to have a goal at home that you will not use. Similarly, selling your old equipment to buy a new camera model may be the best option to get it.

The best team, complete it little by little

Patience, it is much better that you are completing your photographic equipment little by little as your knowledge and practice progress . If you buy everything at once you may regret it if your photographic style changes or you realize that what you have bought is very limited.

Many people write to me because they bought their first DSLR with a 70-300 lens and they tell me that they can not take pictures of landscapes. Do you understand what I mean, no?

Invests in photography books , courses and free time to practice, there will be time to renew the team. Little by little you will become aware of the material you need and most importantly why.

Without making more preamble, know from the voice of an expert what are the elements that you must take into account to choose the best wedding photographer. Do not forget that this decision should not be rushed, so take the time you need to review portfolios, meet personalities, understand styles, preferences, equipment, and much more! Now, let's begin:

1. Ask her how many weddings she has taken
"Experts say that a professional photographer must meet at least 100 successfully covered weddings in their portfolio. They should be weddings as a titular photographer , " says Mauricio Alanis. If the interview presents you pictures that were covered as an assistant or "second shooter" it is better that you do not take them into account. The responsibility to perfectly cover a single event is basic, so do not be surprised.

2. Check your portfolio well
Another of the 8 basic tips of Mauricio Alanis is that you take the time to analyze the quality of your work. "The pictures that parents leave suddenly are not worth. What is worth is that they always come out spectacular and that all go as well . This point is very necessary when it comes to choosing your wedding photographer, since if on your wedding day there is no good luck for him or her, then all the photos could end in a real disaster.

3. Look for consistency
Mauricio Alanis also recommends that the wedding photographers you interview show you a whole wedding, not just the 10 photos that came out the best on that day. "When you have seen the whole wedding, check that the other weddings have turned out just as good. All photos, all weddings. Not a few, not sometimes yes, sometimes not, " says this lens professional. Like that or more clear?

4. Chemistry
As part of the 8 basic tips for choosing your wedding photographer, chemistry is a must. It is important that you feel good by your side and that trust flourish around a professional and personal relationship. "If you are a photographer who has good photos but is a heavyweight, imagine holding it all day of your wedding. After an hour you'll want to run, " says Alanis. Think of yourself, your fiance, and your wedding day. Do not sacrifice the quality you want to see on your wedding album. Discover which are the photos that can not be missing in your getting ready session .

5. Search for photographers, not rockstars
Before continuing with the wedding photographer choice, Mauricio Alanis recommends that you put your feet on the ground. "You're not hiring a rock band that's going to give you a concert. If it is very "cool" or very "in", that is apart . Find someone who gives you the best quality of their work, and not that person who only wants one more stage to promote. Remember that the wedding is yours and the result of your work will last forever! Take note of everything you need to know about the work of a wedding photographer .

6. Check your batting ranking
The technical aspects are also crucial when it comes to choosing a professional wedding photographer. Mauricio Alanis recommends the following: "check how many photos you take and how many you do well. If you take two thousand photos, but you give 200, it means that it only had a 10% success. You need to look for those who have at least 85%. You can not accept less. " Do not make the decision lightly; check your work carefully and see the detail and quality of your photographs.

7. Reputation
"It's very obvious, but you should not forget it. Check with people who have hired you and ask them how they did with him or her, " says Alanis. The key is not just in the technique they keep behind the lens and impressions, but in the attitude they have with the bride and groom. Satisfaction is paramount, and only a professional wedding photographer will pamper you with the best of your work. Take it into account!

8. Fashion is fleeting
Mauricio Alanis adds this important point to his 8 basic tips for choosing your wedding photographer. "Do not hire the trendy one. Hire the best. Check your credentials and enjoy your work as never before . " Trends are far behind, but good work remains in timelessness. Do not get confused and choose the best!

Now that you've taken a look at Mauricio Alanis's 8 tips, you just need to put them into practice to choose the best professional photographer for your wedding . 4 Mistakes you should avoid when discussing with your partner if you want to save the relationship

Conflict is inevitable in any kind of relationship, and even couples who get along better from time to time argue; at some point they recognize that there is a problem that needs a solution and you have to find it between the two. All this in theory sounds wonderful, but it takes more than good will for the solution to appear.
Some experts in relationships as John Guttmann say there are signs that warn if your relationship is at a crucial moment that could define their course, whether to continue or to effectively end. When there are discussions, it often falls into attitudes that, instead of solving the conflict, aggravate it. Here are 4 mistakes you should avoid to have a good relationship.

1. Attacking the person and not the behavior
Attacking the person and not the behavior

When someone criticizes, he often does it in a way that implies that there is something wrong in the other, such as personality or character, and he usually does it by generalizing: "you never ...", "you always ..." or "you are the type Of person that ... "and the only thing that this provokes is that the person who feels attacked reacts on the defensive. That is why it is important to focus specifically on a behavior, without attacking the personality of your partner.

2. Show contempt

Sarcasm, pride in replies, mocking or making gestures like grimaces or moving eyes while the other speaks are signs of contempt, who seek nothing more than hurt the other. It is necessary to work to eliminate these harmful behaviors and build a base of respect, tolerance and kindness in the relationship again.

3. Being on the defensive

And sometimes it happens without people noticing. This behavior is an attempt to defend you from an attack with a grievance or by placing yourself in the victim's plan. It is to reject one's responsibility by not accepting mistakes, much less offering an apology or asking for forgiveness when necessary. What you should be is try to put yourself in the place of your partner and see things from your perspective. Nobody is perfect. Speak with the truth and listen in a perceptive and open way.

4. Create a wall

Punishing the couple with silence or leaving the room to avoid conflict can sometimes be an attempt to remain calm when a feeling overwhelms, but the result is often disastrous and leads to the cooling of the relationship. The antidote is to learn to identify the signs that you or your partner begins to feel emotionally overwhelmed and to agree to take a break and resume the conversation when both are calm. Only the couples who know how to discuss take advantage of the differences and achieve a happy, healthy and stable relationship.
